Privacy Policy

Effective 13 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Scout (“Scout”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the Scout website at scout-source.com and the Scout web app. If you have any questions, email hello@scout-source.com.

Who we are

Scout is an outreach assistant that helps you find relevant people and opportunities and draft personalized messages in your own voice. For data- protection purposes, Scout is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@scout-source.com.

Data we collect

How we use your data

Data about third parties

Scout surfaces contact information about people from publicly available sources so you can reach out. Where we process this without collecting it directly from the person, our lawful basis is our and your legitimate interest in relevant B2B and professional outreach, balanced against those individuals’ rights. Any person can ask us to stop processing their information or to be removed by emailing hello@scout-source.com, and every outreach email includes a way to opt out. You are responsible for contacting people lawfully (see our Terms).

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Scout, under contract and only as needed:

International transfers

Some providers process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for those transfers.

Retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete finds, projects, and templates in the app, disconnect your mailbox at any time, and ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing hello@scout-source.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under UK/EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@scout-source.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data- protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

Cookies and local storage

Scout uses your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your settings and drafts. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Children

Scout is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
